Focus on focusing in 2012

As the spring 2012 semester approaches I’m excited to see what’s in store for me. A majority of my classes are English-based so I know that I will enjoy them, but I also am aware it’s going to be a lot of work. More specifically for my media production II class I already know that the class will be one that I won’t mind putting in the extra effort in for. I look forward to doing video and more audio work, because what I did for the media production I class was more photo-based. My favorite aspect of the class is how much creative freedom we have. It is also exciting to think about the fact that we only have five projects to worry about, but at the same time I know it will require a lot of time. Time management is going to be a major challenge for me this semester; I’m going to have to really force myself to stick to personal time restraints and deadlines. I am also concerned about retaining new techniques on different programs, because at times I don’t have the best memory. So, I am going to strive to focus in class and review steps and processes that we learn. Although I want to go into public relations, I hope to be able to use what I learn in this class and apply it in my career field. Overall I am excited for this class with all the projects to come and the explorations I will make with my own creative touch.

please ignore the tan-line; its from softball

Ashley Behabetz is currently enrolled at St. Mary’s University as a sophomore perusing a degree in English Communication Arts. She is also a catcher on the Lady Rattlers softball team. Going on her 11th season of softball, she is looking forward to a successful spring. In the future, she hopes to combine her love of sports and a college degree to obtain a job in the sports industry. (Preferably baseball) Behabetz is an avid Colorado Rockies Fan as well.

Born and raised in Littleton, Colorado. She attended Dakota Ridge High School where she was student body president, a four-time letter winner in student government, 3-time softball, 2-time lacrosse, and basketball letter winner. As the oldest sibling, Behabetz strives to guide her younger sister in a positive direction by assistant coaching her competitive 12-and-under-fast-pitch softball team in Colorado. She is grateful to have the opportunity to volunteer her time giving back to the sport she loves. Behabetz also enjoys writing poetry and creative fiction in her spare time.
